About this watch

Description

A beautifully stylish Jaeger LeCoultre in 9ct yellow gold from 1973. The watch is in excellent overall condition, with an elegant JLC Swiss made classic case and large size dial in original and perfect condition. The recently serviced movement is running strongly and keeping accurate time. The lens has been replaced and a new good quality leather strap has just been fitted, making this beautiful timepiece is ready to wear.

Dial: The classic JLC design dial is in perfect condition with a satin silver-white finish and raised gold JL (Jaeger-LeCoultre) logo and sunken gold hour markers. The beautifully thin gold hour and minute hands are also in perfect condition. The lens is also perfect and so along with the unmarked thin rounded bezel, the overall impression is one of a new watch.

Case: The minimalist, slimline case is just 7.5mm thin, with beautiful swept back lugs and is in superb condition. It is a large watch at 34mm diameter not including the crown. The overall length of the case is 41 mm. The high quality screw down case back with water tight rubber seal has not been inscribed and is in excellent condition. Inside of the case back it is properly hallmarked and signed “LeCoultre Co”. SWISS  9c .375, E902 L.S.

Movement: A high quality 17 jeweled hand-wind K911 movement, freshly serviced, running strongly and keeping good time. The watch winds and sets perfectly and following calibration is now keeping perfect time.

Strap: The strap is a new high quality dark nut brown croc leather which compliments the 9K yellow gold case very nicely. The buckle is gold plate.

What’s Included…

This vintage gold Jaeger-LeCoultre is provided with an attractive hard wood presentation case as seen in the photographs. The list price also includes our 12 months written warranty on the movement. This is detailed on your written receipt which is supplied with the watch.  If the watch is being sent or taken abroad and the warranty is not so important to you, we will be able to reduce the price by £150. The watch is also supplied on 7 days approval i.e. sale or return, 14 days for international customers. This is also detailed on our written receipt. We will also provide you a written insurance valuation in case of loss and this will be for the replacement value. Delivery within the UK is also included for free. International delivery is included for £45.00

In Summary – This is a fabulous vintage gold watch from one of the most prestigious watchmakers in the world. It is in top working condition and is highly collectable as well as suitable for ready to wear. Don’t miss this opportunity to buy this rare and  iconic vintage watch at an excellent price.

At list price this watch is excellent value considering a new equivalent Jaeger LeCoultre 9K dress watch would retail at around £8,000 today. Further, a vintage early 1970s 9K gold Jaeger LeCoultre on sale in this condition, would require £5,000 to £7,000 in a Bond Street store or in the Burlington Arcade in Central London.

From an investment point of view, there is no question which is the better buy.

This 1973 Jaeger would also make a wonderful special anniversary or birthday gift and an excellent investment or heirloom piece.

Note it is challenging to capture the full beauty of a vintage watch even in a good set of photographs. Needless to say, it is a much more rewarding experience to have and hold the watch and wear it with pride.
