About this watch
Description
A very rare 18ct Rose Gold Omega Chronograph gent’s dress watch from 1963
In superb very lightly used all original condition, and rarely found in solid 18K rose gold this beautiful watch is working perfectly following a recent full inspection and service.
The Swiss hallmarked case is a large size 35mm diameter, not including the Omega Crown. The watch has the very grade Cal.321 movement as fitted to the later Omega Speedmaster Professional moon watch. The three register dial is in superb untouched, unrestored condition. The watch has the original rose gold plated Omega buckle and original Omega presentation box.
The Dial
In superb original unrestored condition, the silver white dial is just too good to restore. the three registers are all working perfecly. The stick hands and batons are all in perfect condition and the lens is clear and unmarked.
The Case
The superb condition, lightly polished 18ct solid rose gold case has obviously been very lightly used and shows no signs of wear. The case measures 42mm lug to lug and 35mm diameter not including the Omega signed crown – Inside the case-back bears Swiss 18ct hallmarks and Omega signature. – The case carries the reference numbers 101 010 63. There a very slightest crease on the case-back which is often seen and caused by pressure applied too near the centre of the case back instead go the edge when replacing the case-back. This cannot be picked up by the camera and is only mentioned for completeness.
The Movement
This is the very highly regarded Cal.321 movement which was later fitted to the Omega Speedmaster Preofessional watch which was worn by NASA astronauts and became the first watch to be worn on the moon.
The orignal Omega copper-toned calibre 321 movement looks pristine. It is signed Omega Watch Co Swiss, Seventeen Jewels – with serial number 20520632 which dates its manufacture to 1963. It winds, runs & sets smoothly and is working perfectly and keeping excellent time within 10 seconds per day – The oblong pushers both feel secure and operate positively. The chronograph is started and stopped with the top button and is reset by the bottom button causing the needle hand to flyback.
The Strap and Buckle
The watch is complimented with a very high quality ‘croc’ leather strap – with the original rose gold plated Omega buckle. And if you would prefer a different colour or style of strap please let us know and we will do our best to oblige. If a new Omega strap is preferred, this can be fitted for an extra £50.
Box and Papers
This watch comes with an original vintage Omega presentation box as shown. And although there are no original papers, the watch will be supplied with a detailed written receipt and 12 months warranty*. A separate written valuation for insurance purposes will also be included.
*12 months warranty only applicable provided the list price is paid.
