An unused Rolex Oyster Perpetual 14ct dress watch from 1966 with an original Special Commission Rolex, Ladies 14ct Bracelet made for this watch and a ladies size wrist.

The Bracelet

The 14ct solid gold yellow bracelet here was a special commission from Rolex. It was made to order and is original to this watch. It was designed and hand made for either a small gents, or perhaps more likely ladies’ size 16cm to 18 cm circumference wrist size. For reference, a medium size wrist for a lady is 16 cm.

The bracelet itself is not expandable but has an adjustable safety clasp and a four step ladder link onto which the safety clasp fastens. It shows absolutely no signs of wear and this, along with the condition of the watch case and movement are proof to us that this watch has spent all of it’s life in a safe or a bedroom draw.

The bracelet was specially commissioned and hand-made to order, prior to the purchase of the watch in 1966. It was made for Rolex by Britton & Sons, based at 45 Vyse Street, Birmingham. Britton & Sons was a case supplier to Rolex along with other top tier Swiss brands.

The Dial

The stunning slate-sliver dial works beautifully be with the 14ct case, Thunderbird bezel and bracelet. It catches the light and changes from slate grey to sliver with some yellow brown hints in low light.

The Movement

The Chronometer grade (highly accurate and highly reliable) 26 Jewels Cal.1570 Automatic Movement is in sparkling condition. It has just been serviced in March 2015 and it is guaranteed for 12 months.

The Case

The 14ct Rolex Oyster watch case here is as new. It features the Rolex Oyster screw down crown and screw down case-back. It measures 34mm not including the crown.

Box and Papers

Although there are no original papers with this watch, all the numbers and markings on the watch are correct, dating the watch to 1966. These number will be detailed on your Lifetime Authenticity Guarantee which forms part of your receipt along with your 12 months warranty* A separate insurance valuation for the replacement value, will be provided at the time of sale. In Conclusion

This is the best example of a full size, 1960′s vintage gold Rolex, any money can buy. You are buying a watch just as was when it left the Rolex showroom in 1966! And for a quarter the price of the new equivalent!

And if treated with care, this will make an excellent investment and heirloom piece, particularly if it remains in top condition.
